I’m Anton Brogden, and I’m running as the Republican candidate for the Delaware House of Representatives in the 31st District.
I’m not running because I’ve lived a perfect life. I’m running because I understand what it means to face difficult truths, accept responsibility, and rebuild.
My story
As a young man, unresolved pain led me down a difficult path. Although I graduated from high school, started a family, built a career in management, and served in the United States Navy, I continued struggling with alcohol. Eventually, that struggle resulted in DUIs, homelessness, and the loss of much of what I had worked to build.
There was a time when I lived in transitional housing and walked, biked, or rode a scooter to work at a chicken plant. I attended meetings, accepted help, and slowly began rebuilding my life. I experienced a relapse, but I made the decision to get serious about my recovery.
Today, I have been sober for nine years.
I don’t share my past to ask for sympathy or make excuses. I share it because accountability matters—and because I know that a person’s worst chapter does not have to become the end of their story.
Who I am
I am a lifelong Delaware resident and longtime Dover resident. I’m a proud father to a college graduate, a Navy veteran, a Freemason, and a kickboxing coach with Ignite Fitness. I also bring more than 20 years of management and leadership experience, including managing an in-home medical care office and working directly with individuals and families.
Why I’m running
I’m running because the people of the 31st District deserve leadership that is present, listens, follows through, and addresses the problems residents face every day.
My priorities include:
Safer Communities
Supporting law enforcement, working with public-safety partners, addressing violence, and preventing problems before they happen.
Strong Families and Neighborhoods
Supporting families, expanding access to affordable housing, and building communities where people feel safe and proud to live.
More Opportunity
Attracting businesses that create jobs, expanding employment opportunities, and helping residents build stable, independent lives.
My experiences have taught me humility, resilience, accountability, and the importance of second chances. They have also taught me that leadership isn’t about standing above people—it’s about standing with them.
Over the coming months, I look forward to meeting residents, listening to your concerns, and earning your trust.
